Consulting
My many years of experience in consulting have brought me to many clients - from Lidl to Bvlgari, Prada and Holland & Barrett - including Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof (GKK) to Karl's Erdbeerhof and others.
Presales
The technical expertise of presales consultants has increased significantly in recent years as solutions have become increasingly complex but also more integrative. That is why I have specialised in this area.

Project Management
Presales and project management often overlap. I am therefore glad that I have already been able to gain experience in this environment with several employers. The flagship here is the second fiscalisation of POS systems in Bulgaria, which I was solely responsible for.
About me
Born on January 30th, 1988 in Gengenbach, it was always difficult for me to make the right decision for my professional life.
"Do you want to do something manual?" - No. "Do you want to work in administration?" - No. The list seemed never ending.
It wasn't until I studied business informatics that I realised I wasn't like many other people. Consulting suits me. Why? Because it’s the interface between people, departments, requirements, technology, ideas, creativity and engineering and at the same time requires initiative, customer support, queries, criticism (in both directions), "reading between the lines", negotiations and successful deals.
I only discovered this after two jobs in research and development at Offenburg University of Applied Sciences and as a system administrator for a company in Freiburg/Breisgau.
My way of thinking is different - on the one hand, I like the technical side, but on the other hand, I also like the planning and human side, as well as the way of leaving things on standby for the time being and continuing to work on other points while I wait for feedback.
If my employer and my customer both build a trusting partnership and talk to each other with trust and respect (for me, this includes honesty and transparency in particular), I have done my job well and can hand it over to the responsible after-sales consultant or KAM after the presales phase - but I still stay in constant contact, because many customers have pain or complaints that they don't communicate. Experience shows that it is important not to lose contact with customers or prospects.
Feedback is very much important - some customers are bothered by a design, a colour, a missing column in a database or a function - which may already exist but has not been built in for the customer. A lot can be sorted out if you simply talk to each other openly and honestly. At eye level and without ulterior motives.
Customers sometimes challenge me by asking things, I haven’t ever thought about. That gives me new perspectives and in case I don’t have the answer directly on hand, I would prefer asking my colleagues for some advice before I tell the customer something wrong, where I would later had to apologise for.
Training on the job is important to me - I always want to be in close contact with the technology and the developers and have an insight into the backlog - because questions are often asked about topics that are in development or at least in the planning stage. As a Presales Engineer, I always want to be ahead of the curve when it comes to the further development of the products I'm responsible for.
Thanks to my experience and training in the emergency services, I know how to deal with major and spontaneous stresses. I was also able to impress as an operations manager at festivals through structured planning and management. It was exhausting, but also very satisfying after a successful operation. My voluntary work is not listed on my CV, but in case you’ll ask me about it, I would be happy to tell you about this good time in my life.
I had cancer when I was 16 - therefore I have disability degree of 50%. That doesn’t mean I’m restricted in life, though I won’t run a Marathon in this life anymore. It is just important to me to be completely transparent with my potential future employer. Please feel free to ask questions, if you have!
Best,
Nino
My projects and learnings
In addition to my professional work, I am also involved in other projects. Most of them are of private nature, but I did one for a company based in Schwanau (Ortenau district / “Ortenaukreis”).

TireTravel
A self-developed software project for a medium-sized company in Schwanau/Ottenheim in the Ortenau district with a budget. Customer of the company: Audi car dealership. Implemented: Real-time web services (JSP), delivery note and invoicing, warehouse management, data management and transfer, Word templates, barcode system (experimental), graphical display of critical profile depths, sorting sequences, configurable alarm functions for particularly critical tyre profiles (inside, outside, age, storage time, etc.), business and private customer creation, scheduler for automated tasks (pre-reservations) with automatic invoicing, differentiation between private and business customers and more. Salting and hashing of passwords, with saving of salts in the DB, SSL certificates (https) and SQL injection prevention were used, among other things.
TireTravel - Details
Purpose of the software TireTravel was designed to bring storage mangement and order management together. It includes statistical functions, BI, hashing and salting of passwords, SSL certificates for https-connections, an (experimental) barcode system, multithreading, Java and JSP services with live request management, a private comment function the opposite side can’t see, automatic delivery note and invoicing services directly from the software, in case of multi-page invoices including page (A4 invoice) splits, a traffic light system showing the tire profiles and was designed to synchronize the work between an Audi car retailer company and Fahrzeugbau Wahle (my direct customer) in almost real time. |
Prerequisites and what was discussed In the beginning, I consulted the client with several 3rd-party solutions. I’m not an expert to those solutions, however, I wanted to let him know, that there is something that could fulfill his needs. So the risk could have been, that the customer would work on the desired solution on his own. I thought being honest would though be the best idea. I made an offer to develop a customized solution to his needs. After the customer comissioned me to develop the custom solution, I worked on it for several months. An interesting point was, that some spontaneous changes led to the fact, that tire sets weren’t able to be found by an integer ID, because the customer wanted me to introdce an “R” letter for already used tire sets. That led to the fact, that I had to rewrite all search routines, as I wasn’t able to look for Integers, but had to look for Strings now or split them up. A very important point was the possibility, that the car retailer was able to order different car tire sets in almost real time. Therefore, I implented a multi-threading system, which checked the state changes of the database in almost real time. That system showed the warehouseman, what’s actually going on and what he should care about. |

Troubleshooting and change management |
TireTravel is an almost real time software, to organize the interchange of car tires of end customers between a car park and a private company, offering space for storing those tires in case, the car retailer has no space left. As of course, both companies need to have a very quick and reliable connection with each other. Next to that, it’s necessary that delivery notes and bills can be issued in real time, any time of the day, considering the timezone, SLAs (time of the delivery) and other facts. That means, on the one hand, you need reliable timings and SQL transaction locking on the other hand, to avoid mistakes and doubled interactions with the DB. Besides, there is a high need of security - the software was built on high professional standards, including the prevention of SQL injection, hashing and salting user passwords, storing the salt in the database, allowed max retries per IP (Bot detection), DDoS prevention, Cookie settings (cross-checked against other browsers), webserver updates, trafficing the content over DynDNS and so on. It was my first project for a medium-sized company and worked well for at least one and a half year. I then left the region, but the company has access to the complete sourcecode, as it it fully in their hands, as they paid me for the development.
